Hello and welcome to the Edgewater Beach Neighborhood Association (EBNA) Meet Up page :) Some of your neighbors have assembled a small planning team. Together with our favorite local cafes, the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, and the Edgewater Environmental Coalition, we've coordinated a "Coffee Corners and Clean-Up" day. On May 18th, we will be out in the streets saying "hi" and asking you about you, including your interests, and how you might like to engage with your neighbors in the future. We believe that a felt sense of community is important. The reasons are enumerable, but include our emotional and physical safety, as well as the economic health of our neighborhood.
Here are the details that we have so far:
At each crossroad north of Ainsley and south of Hollywood, along Kenmore and Winthrop, we will have a "Welcoming Station".
The stations will be fitted with coffee donated from our favorite cafes in the area.
We've also coordinated supplies for some light litter clean up. Hand gloves and litter bags (both re-usable and biodegradable) will be supplied by the Edgewater Environmental Coalition (EEC).
At each station we will have both printed literature and stories to share which promote our local business, non-profits, and other civic institutions.
